Man killed and a second wounded in early morning shooting in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE,WI (CBS 58) -- On this, the 15th Annual Ceasefire Sabbath, a man was killed and second man wounded in a shooting early Sunday morning in Milwaukee.

Around 12:40 AM, the Milwaukee Police responded to a shooting at N 23rd and W State Streets where they found a 23-year-old man who had been shot.  The man was unresponsive as the Milwaukee Fire Department performed life saving measures.  He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

According to the MPD, about twenty minutes later, a 20-year-old man told police that he had also been shot while at the same location.   The 20-year-old was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  

MPD detectives are still investigating the circumstances of the shootings.
