Officials rescue man from water who left a residential care facility in Oconomowoc

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man was taken to the hospital after a water rescue in Oconomowoc on Thursday, Aug. 10.
According to the Western Lakes Fire chief, the man ran from staff at the residential care facility, near Valley Road, and went into lower Nashotah Lake.
Authorities say the individual was refusing to come to shore.
The individual continued to swim further away and was showing signs of exhaustion. Officials were able to use a boat to reach him and rescue him.
He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for the facility said they were unable to provide any information about the incident.
