Man found dead in Lincoln County identified as hunter from Racine

TOWN OF HARDING, Wis. (WSAW)-- The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department has released the name of a Racine man found dead Oct. 26 on hunting land west of Irma.

Authorities said Donald Peterson, 59, was using a climbing tree stand when it let loose. Peterson had been hunting on property off Camp Avenue in the Town of Harding.

Another hunter located Peterson's body. Deputies along with the Town of Corning Fire Department and Lincoln County EMS responded to the scene.
Authorities said Peterson was hunting alone in the area.

A cause of death has not been released.
