WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) – Police tape surrounded a home on Sunset Drive Friday afternoon where police say a 46-year-old man was shot in the chest.
Police say an adult female is cooperating in this investigation.
“Cops surrounded the scene with their shields and stuff,” says a neighbor Karen Strickland. “Then they took a young girl. She was bleeding from her head. The older man, they were reviving him. He was pretty bad.”
Police responded to the home around 12:30 in the afternoon. CBS 58 witnessed officers going in and out of the home. Humane Society officials also removed pets from the household.
Neighbors who knew the family says what happened seemed unlike them.
“They greet you ever time you walk in,” says neighbors Adam Orlopp. “They have a son who’s really nice. The father is a nice guy. He helped me with my truck a few times. I mean, the daughter has babysat my kids a couple times.”
Neighbors believe it was a family of four who lived in the household and had only been living there for about a year.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and say there is no additional threat to the public.
They say additional information will be released on Saturday.
