Man dies after two motorcycles collide in Dane County

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 66-year-old man from Indianapolis died after crashing into a fellow motorcyclist in Dane County. 

It happened around 4:40 p.m. on Thursday on I-39 NB at 124.5 near De Forest.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, two motorcyclists were traveling northbound when traffic started to slow in front of them. The motorcyclists tried to change lanes to avoid traffic when one motorcyclist lost control and crashed into the other.

One motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital. He died from his injuries on Monday.

The other motorcyclist was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
