WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) – A man is dead after being hit by a car on I-94 West near Pewaukee Road.
The westbound lanes of I-94 West are back open after being closed for nearly five hours overnight while the crash was under investigation.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office says a man who was the passenger of a broken down car tried to walk across I-94 West when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
It happened around 9:00 Tuesday night. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. The westbound lanes of the interstate were closed, reopening just before 2:00 Wednesday morning.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating, but say the person who hit the man is cooperating with the Sheriff’s Office.
