Man charged in connection to fatal shooting of 1-year-old girl near 19th and Atkinson

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We now know what led up to the deadly shooting of a one-year-old girl in Milwaukee.

Twenty-seven-year-old Davon Chapman, pictured here, is now facing charges.

The shooting happened Saturday night near 19th and Atkinson.

Milwaukee police say Chapman fired several shots at a vehicle driven by the father of Zy'Aire Nevels.

The little girl was in a car seat when she was shot.

Police say Chapman has a connection to the family.

According to the criminal complaint, he confessed to killing Zy'Aire in a phone call and text message to his mother.
