Man accused of wrong-way driving and 4th offense DUI

MILWAUKEE -- 30-year-old Michael Wartgow has been charged with fourth offense Driving Under the Influence and second degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.


The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says a deputy spotted Wartgow driving the wrong way on the S. 76th St. ramp on I-94 around 1:00 a.m. The deputy followed Wartgow into the construction area next to the ramp, and eventually pulled him over near 81st and Dixon St.


Wartgow's prior DUI convictions were in June 2009, January 2010, and June 2010. Due to his prior convictions, Wartgow is required to maintain a blood alcohol concentration below .02. The sheriff's office says Wartgow's blood alcohol concentration was .21. 


The sheriff's office says Wartgow told them he had been drinking at Liquid Johnny's Bar and Grill.
