Suspect accused of killing hotel security guard in Milwaukee arrested in Georgia

GEORGIA (CBS 58) -- A 36-year-old man accused in the murder of a Milwaukee hotel security guard was arrested in Georgia.

Authorities say on Dec. 6, Arrick J. Adams shot and killed a 28-year-old man at the Days Inn and Suites located near 6th and Vine. A friend identified the victim as Jose Stanton. Hunt told CBS 58 there was an apparent dispute between a woman and her boyfriend Monday night and Stanton told them they had to leave. She explained that the man returned to the Days Inn and shot Stanton.

Wisconsin officials contacted the Henry County Sheriff's Office after tracking the cellphone of Adams' girlfriend, which was reported at a residence in Henry County, Georgia.

As officers responded to the home, officials said two individuals were spotted outside, one being Adams. Officials say Adams fled the scene and a high-speed chase ensued.

Adams surrendered after Henry County Sheriff's deputies boxed in his car on an on-ramp to Highway 155.

Deputies recovered a weapon in the vehicle.

Adams is facing charges of aggravated assault and parole violation. He’s now facing additional charges in Henry County for fleeing with the attempt to elude, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and multiple traffic infractions.
