MADACC launches 2018 Pit Bull Proud Campaign

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- June marks the start of MADACC's 2018 Pit Bull Proud Campaign.

The Pit Bull Proud adoption program was created in 2014 to increase the number of Pit Bulls adopted into loving, forever homes. Pit Bull type dogs make up 45% of the homeless and neglected dogs brought into MADACC each year.

Over the next five months, MADACC will show pit bull pride and support towards the breed.

In 2018, MADACC revamped the program. They now provide Pit Bulls with a  welcome home kit which features an easy walk harness, toys, and a Pit Bull Proud sticker and bandana.

The campaign will culminate with the annual Pit Bull Awareness Day towards the end of October.

Over 550 Pit Bulls have been adopted via the Pit Bull Proud Program since 2014.
