Lyft to debut new pickup experience at Summerfest

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Lyft will debut a new pickup experience at Summerfest, called "Code Pickup," according to a press release. 

It's designed to make curbside pickups quicker, easier and safer for festival-goers, with reduced wait times.

How it works:

• Lyft rider requests a ride and is provided a four-digit code
• Riders will be directed to a line in a designated area where Lyft drivers will be waiting via in-app instructions. Once a passenger reaches the front of the line, they show the next driver their code.
• Drivers will enter the code into the app and the two will be matched. At that point, the driver can see the rider's details and destination.

Lyft has also partnered with Milwaukee Food to offer a "Food Truck Park" near the pickup location on Art Museum Drive.
