Lux Domes return to Café Benelux for the upcoming holiday season

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The wildly popular Lux Domes will return to the roof of Café Benelux in Milwaukee's Third Ward for the upcoming holiday season.

The Lowlands Group made the announcement on Friday, Nov. 1.

Last year, the six private, heated domes sold out almost immediately last season.

“We took a gamble last year on the hunch that people in Milwaukee were looking for more adventurous dining experiences,” said Dan Herwig, director of brand and marketing for Lowlands Group. “People want to get out and enjoy winter, and the domes give them a totally unique way to do that.”

The domes will open on Black Friday, Nov. 29 and will be similar to last year, but expect updated food and beverage packages -- and more slots available to rent!

According to a news release, each $200, 90-minute reservation for eight includes a complimentary drink package as well as special keepsake mugs for guests, with the ability to add on a variety of additional festive food and beverage packages to help celebrate the season.

Reservations for the domes will open in a few weeks and are expected to fill up quickly. People interested in making a reservation are encouraged to sign up for the Lowlander email list on the website. An email will be sent out with links to the online reservation system 24 hours in advance to being open to the public.

“While $200 seems like a lot at first blush, it shakes out to $25 a person for a really unique experience, and that includes the first round of drinks and a keepsake mug,” added Herwig. “Last year we saw so many different people out celebrating all sorts of occasions — we even had a few proposals on the rooftop!”
