MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)-- Lowlands Group recently announced the return of “Lowlands Winter” at their eight grand café and supper club locations in Milwaukee and Madison. This unique variety of heated outdoor structures, including domes, globes, Northwoods shanties and winter chalets, will serve to keep diners warm as they enjoy a meal with friends and family this season.

Lowlands Group was among the first to bring private outdoor dining to Wisconsin with the launch of its popular Lux Domes in 2018. This year’s new offerings include Northwoods shanties at Buckatabon Tavern & Supper Club made by a Northwoods Wisconsin craftsman, and new, larger domes at Café Benelux. Reservations are available online.

“We were so blown away by the response to our outdoor winter experiences in previous years that we wanted to elevate all of our spaces this winter,” said Eric Wagner, Lowlands Group CEO. “Our new Alpenglobes at Café Benelux and Café Hollander are the only of their kind east of the Mississippi, and our custom fish shanties sourced and built in Eagle River will add a whole new dimension to Buckatabon’s winter experiences.”

Café Benelux, Centraal Grand Café & Tappery, Café Hollanders Downer, Tosa, Brookfield and Hilldale, as well as Buckatabon Tavern & Supper Club, will feature individual private outdoor dining structures with family style seating, festive decor and heaters that take the edge off winter. The private outdoor experiences are tailored to each restaurant’s distinct concept and feature peak evening and weekend booking slots that can be reserved ahead of time online, with pricing ranging from $50 to $200 based on location and time. Walk-ins will be accommodated based on availability. Each booking experience includes a private dining structure for up to 6-10 guests for 90 minutes, plus a select beverage package of the group’s choice. The specially-curated beverage and additional food menus are designed for family-style service, with themed or customizable options.

“From luxurious heated domes to cozy rustic Northwoods shanties, we really have something for everyone,'' added Wagner. “Part of living in Wisconsin is either fighting the winter or embracing it. We prefer to embrace it.”

Seasonal drink package highlights include Buckatabon Old Fashioned, Sweater Weather Mule, Rumchata Cocoa and more. Curated food menus are available at various locations and range from Charcuterie and Cheese platters to Hummus, Mezza Plates, Sliders and more.

Experiences include:

Buckatabon Tavern & Supper Club (Wauwatosa) – Frank & Larry’s Northwoods Shanties

Café Benelux (Third Ward) – Lux Domes and Lux Rooftop Warming Tent

The Lux Domes return to the Café Benelux rooftop for the upcoming holiday season, better than ever. These heated domes sold out almost immediately last season due to their popularity and this year Lowlands offers six brand new Alpenglobe domes, seating up to 8 guests, that are cozier and more luxurious. For non-private dining options, Café Benelux also offers the The Lux Rooftop Warming Tent, allowing diners to take in the sights from the Third Ward's most unique rooftop.
