MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A reckless driving stop turned into a slow-speed pursuit the evening of Monday, March 2, after a driver initially stopped near 63rd and Capitol then fled as officers approached, according to Milwaukee police.
The chase ended near the corner of Ohio and Kinnickinnic, where the 24-year-old man was arrested. Suspected illegal narcotics were reportedly found in the vehicle.
Police said stop sticks were deployed during the pursuit, which may have contributed to the low speeds. MPD confirmed to CBS 58 that it does not train officers in the PIT maneuver as an intervention option.
Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
