Loved Ones Remember Man Shot Outside Home

We're hearing from the girlfriend of a Milwaukee man. who was shot and killed outside of his home.

Police were called to a northwest Milwaukee neighborhood on Thursday, and found 35-year-old Andrew Voit dead.

Voit's girlfriend Cori Bierstecker is still shell-shocked at finding him dead right outside their home. She says now, she's left with the challenge of raising their 10-month-old daughter alone.

Voit was a father of three girls. He also worked in the service industry. Those who knew him say he was loved by his coworkers and people in the community. Beirstecker says Wednesday night's tragedy has changed her entire outlook on the city of Milwaukee. She also says Voit didn't have a life insurance policy, so the family is now facing the burden to arranging a funeral and memorial service.

"It's really hard to know that you're so vulnerable to something. I think we all kind of think, when we wake up in the morning that we're going to go about and do what we need to do. At any second, something can happen to anyone," says Bierstecker.

The family has a GoFundMe page set up where you can donate.
