MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- After 50 years in Milwaukee, Lopez Bakery will close its doors.
The announcement came in a Facebook post.
The bakery at 11th and Mitchell is going out of business, citing challenging economic times and limits on service caused by the Covid pandemic.
Last year, CBS 58 covered a special gala hosted by the bakery to support new small hometown businesses.
For now, the bakery is open and will stay open until their building is sold.
