MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Lopez Bakery & Restaurant on Milwaukee's south side is hosting a gala to support local businesses this weekend.
The gala happening Saturday, March 26 is about showcasing and highlighting new local small businesses and individual artists.
There will be crafts and art for sale, music, including a DJ, food, activities for kids, and more.
Jorge Lopez, the owner of Lopez Bakery, shared with us why it was important for him to offer an event like this.
"We started off as a small business, so we understand what it takes to grow a business and to survive as long as we have," said Lopez. "And this gala night gives small businesses -- gives them an opportunity to have exposure."
The event is from 5 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lopez Bakery located on 1100 W. Historic Mitchell Street.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
