Long-term closure of 27th Street near Fond du Lac Avenue, Center Street begins Monday

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A long-term closure of N. 27th Street from W. Fond du Lac Avenue to W. Center Street will begin Monday, Feb. 3 while the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works begins an underground sewer project. 

A full closure of this portion of N. 27th Street will last until early July.

A detour will reroute traffic using W. Fond du Lac Avenue. and W. Center Street. Beginning Monday, left turns will be allowed at this intersection and temporary left turn arrows will be installed.

Congestion is anticipated and it's suggest to allow yourself extra time when traveling through the area.

The MCTS Purple Line will also be affected.
