MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- One local woman celebrated her 100th birthday on Thursday, Jan. 25.
Friends and family helped Willie Bell Harris celebrated with cake, flowers, and a sash that said, "100 and fabulous."
According to a statement, when Harris was 17, she moved to Milwaukee with her family from North Carolina. For more than 20 years, she's been a member of the Community Care's Pace Program.
She has led a pretty healthy life, but she has had COVID-19 twice.
"All I can say is, thank God, He let me live to see 100 years old," said Harris.
Two communities, The City of Milwaukee, and her hometown of High Point, North Carolina, declared Jan. 25th as "Willie Bell Harris Day."
