Local teen advances to national finals of Poetry Out Loud in DC

Nine finalists, including one Milwaukee teen, has advanced as finalists in the Poetry Out Loud competition.
Ian Walls, a senior at the Milwaukee High School of the Arts, will show his skills in reciting classic and contemporary poems in hopes of winning a $20,000 award.
Ian, and the 8 other finalist, compete tonight at 6:00 pm central time.
Just for being a finalist Ian wins at least a $1000 cash prize and $500 for his school library.
