Local Shelter to Hold Labor Day Lunch for Homeless

A daytime shelter for Milwaukee's homeless population will host its annual Labor Day Picnic Lunch today.

The shelter hopes to provide a day of celebration for those without a home on this holiday weekend.

While most shelters remain closed today Repairers Of The Breach is inviting the homeless community to celebrate Labor Day with food and fun.

The event is from 11:30 to 1:30 today at the shelter at 1335 W. Vliet St.

A similar event for Memorial Day brought more than 100 people together for the holiday.
