Local nonprofit donates fresh food, pet supplies to Elkhorn Food Pantry
CBS 58 ELKHORN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A local company has been working to donate healthy food to a pantry in Elkhorn. It's all part of a longstanding tradition with the local program VIP Services.
They've been working with disabled community members in Walworth County for over 50 years, giving specialized help to each and every person that needs it while encouraging a more active, caring community throughout Walworth County.
Their clients grow fresh fruits and vegetables through their therapeutic horticulture program, and this year alone, VIP Services and their helping hands have donated over 2,000 pounds of food to local pantries.
The company recently announced a grant awarded to them by the Green Bay Packers Foundation, allowing them to expand these programs in 2026.
"Getting involved and being a part of whatever is happening out there, it's important to them to feel loved and appreciated just like anybody else," said Craig Poshepny, VIP Services.
As the program carries on each year, leaders hope it will continue to bolster community growth throughout all of Walworth County.
This year's Holiday Food Drive for Pets and People benefited the Elkhorn Food Pantry.
