WATERTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 35-year-old man is dead after being struck by a pickup truck through multiple blocks in the downtown Watertown area overnight on Sun, Dec. 21.

Watertown Police say the incident happened at around 12:40 a.m. in the 500 block of E. Main Street, before ending in the 200 block of E. Main Street.

That is where officers say they located the victim, who died as a result of injuries. 

The suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to officers' arrival, but through the use of license plate reader date and video evidence, officers were able to identify the vehicle and arrested the 54-year-old suspect at his residence.

He has been arrested and charged with Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle and Hit and Run Causing Death.
