MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- More than 75% of Americans report feeling anxious about their finances, and nearly a quarter have no emergency savings, according to financial advisor Brad Allen of Drake & Associates.
Allen joined us on Wednesday, Feb. 25 to talk about financial planning strategies for the new year.
He recommends starting with an attainable goal and breaking it into smaller steps. Setting up automatic contributions to separate savings accounts can help reduce the temptation to stop saving when budgets feel tight, he said.
Allen also suggests finding an accountability partner and writing goals down to track progress.
