MEQUON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A local cleaning company is helping Mequon police stay healthy while they're on duty.
Monday, Advantaclean of Badgerland sanitized the department's vehicles.
That included wiping down surfaces, vacuuming the floors and seats and fogging inside the vehicle with an antimicrobial.
The service was also done at no cost to the police department.
"They keep us safe," said David Harley, owner of Advantaclean of Badgerland. "They are here to protect and to serve. So the least we can do at Advantaclean is serve them back."
"We're very appreciative. This was not something that was ever brought into our budget items for this year, so this would be something that we wouldn't be able to do on our own. So if it wasn't for companies like this stepping up helping us, this wouldn't be happening," said Captain John Hoell of the Mequon Police Department.
Advantaclean officials also plan to sanitize vehicles for other police and fire departments in Washington and Ozaukee counties.
