Lingering Storm System Ushers in Chance of Showers and Storms Today

An upper-level trough and low pressure to our north will keep the chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast today. With cooler temperatures aloft and sunshine to start the day, this will help kick up rain showers and a few thunderstorms. There will be enough chilly air upstairs in the atmosphere to drive in the chance for small hail and brief heavy downpours. Severe weather is not expected.

Early this week, the chance will remain in place for showers and storms. As of now, nothing appears to be strong or severe in potential. Highs begin to trend warmer by week’s end with temperatures climbing into the 80s.

Remember that tomorrow is the first official day of summer at 11:24. It is the longest day of the year with official sun time of almost 15 hours and 22 minutes! Enjoy that sun now!
