MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley has undergone a remarkable renaissance over the years.
On Thursday, there was a celebration marking 20 years of transformation in the valley hosted by Menomonee Valley partners Third Space Brewing and City Lights Brewing Company.
The event included a ceremonial keg-tapping of a new limited edition beer, the Menomonee River Valley Urban Escape.
"The valley's been great to work with, so it's just continuing the momentum that we built in the valley, that Third Space built in the valley," said City Lights Brewmaster Jimmy Gohsman. "Other businesses in the valley have led the way before us, so continuing on that momentum, continuing to bring people down in the valley and make people aware of all the awesome things happening here in the valley and everything that's available to do here."
Urban Escape was brewed with wild rice, which is what grew in the Menomonee Valley hundreds of years ago.
