Lifeguards will return to Shorewood's Atwater Beach June 26

SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Despite an area-wide lifeguard shortage, lifeguards will be back at Atwater Beach in the village of Shorewood this summer.

Their primary focus will be monitoring the water, but they'll also enforce beach rules.

These include no smoking, no dogs, no glass and no fires or grills.

Guests are encouraged to stay on the public beach within lifeguard visibility.

Lifeguards will be on duty every day from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. starting June 26 and running through Aug. 15.
