MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee day care is facing a civil lawsuit. 

The lawsuit was filed by a legal guardian of a child who attended Children's Learning Daycare LLC, near Teutonia and Good Hope. 

 In a complaint, it stated that on Jan 4, the child was mocked, abused, and assaulted. The complaint states that the child was being held on the ground, slapped, and punched in front of her classmates and the other staff at the day care. 

According to the complaint, the child sustained injuries to her mouth, lip, a severe shock to her nervous system, embarrassment, anxiety, and other severe emotional injuries. 

The guardian of the child is seeking punitive damages.
