Late brewing rally: Seven run ninth turns tide in St. Louis

St. Louis -

Jason Rogers and Khris Davis keyed a seven run rally in the ninth inning Sunday as the Brewers surprised the St. Louis Cardinals 8-4.

Trailing 3-1 in the ninth, the Brewers loaded the bases against Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal. Jason Rogers then stepped to the plate and drilled a Rosenthal offering over the center field wall for a grand slam. Later in the same inning, Khris Davis took Seth Maness deep for his second homer of the game, his 26th of the season.

David Goforth picked up the win in relief, while Francisco Rodriguez was needed to get the final out in the bottom of the ninth. Rodriguez converted and picked up his 37th save.

The Brewers are off Monday before finishing the season with two final series - one in San Diego, the other at Miller Park against the Cubs.
