Lakefront Ramps Set to Reopen in Time For Weekend

Good news if you plan on heading to the Lakefront this weekend. As Phase 1 of the Lakefront Gateway Project nears its end, drivers will be able to access a major ramp that had been closed for nearly a year.

By Saturday morning the I-794 eastbound exit ramp to Lincoln Memorial Dr. will reopen to traffic. This means that you will be able to access the core of the Lakefront without having to detour through downtown Milwaukee.

Also reopening by Saturday morning is the Lincoln Memorial Dr. entrance ramp to I-794 westbound.

Both of these ramps underwent extensive reconstruction and realignment during the project. Drivers can expect to see an improvement during their morning commute along this stretch of freeway.
