Lake Express Ferry, local organizations helping to make bikes more accessible in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Lake Express Ferry is teaming up with two organizations to raise awareness for "green" travel and recreation.

The high-speed ferry, along with the 16th Street Community Health Center and Milwaukee Bicycle Collective, is gathering gently-used bikes.

It's all in an effort to make bicycles more accessible in the Milwaukee area.

"I think a lot of us remember how much a bicycle means to us as a kid and even as you grow older, just to have the freedom to go around where you want to go when you want to go," said Aaron Schultz, Vice President of Sales for Lake Express Ferry.

The first 500 donors receive a free ticket for travel on the Lake Express Ferry which starts service on April 27.
