Lake Delton Police investigating after person entered home, attempted to abduct 2-year-old

LAKE DELTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Lake Delton Police Department is currently investigating an attempted child abduction.

It happened shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday at a home in the Deer Run subdivision.

Officers spoke with the family who said they were awakened by a noise in their 2-year-old child's bedroom.

The parents then discovered the child outside the home alone at the base of the window, police say.

The investigation revealed that someone entered the home through the child's bedroom window, brought the child outside, and fled the area.

The child was unharmed.

Lake Delton Police do not have suspect information available at this time.

The person who the family thought could be responsible was eliminated as a possible suspect.
