Kite festival returns to Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Kite festival returned to Veteran's Park for the first time in three years.

It is the 35th year of this family-friendly event on Milwaukee's lakefront.

World-renowned kite flying teams performed today, including the Chicago Fire team and Fabulous Wind Jammers.

Another highlight from today, on May 28, was the Great Launch, where hundreds of kites were flown in the air.

People of all ages enjoyed watching the kites.

"I came in to see my friend for the weekend and there's a kite show. I'm very happy and excited to see the kites go up," said Joe Pacifico from New York City. "Once it's up there, it's amazing. It's just a fun thing and you just enjoy it."

If you couldn't make it today, don't worry.

Kite Fest will be back on Milwaukee's lakefront starting at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, on May 29.
