Kids at Penfield Children's Center get ballet lesson from Milwaukee Ballet Company dancers

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Kids at Milwaukee’s Penfield Children’s Center got a little ballet class from the pros on Wednesday.

Dancers from the Milwaukee Ballet Company visited the center and showed the kids some warmups and stretching exercise and basic ballet moves.

“What we really want everyone to do when they experience Milwaukee Ballet is just to have some fun, give it a try, stretch, move around a little bit, that’s good for everybody. And also to see the ballet as fun and exciting and maybe isn’t exactly what people think it is,” said Alyson Chavez with the Milwaukee Ballet Company.

Penfield works with kids who have developmental delays and disabilities. Milwaukee Ballet has visited several times over the years, sometimes reading stories and sometimes dancing like on Wednesday.
