Kenosha's Brat Stop Keeps Liquor License

A popular Kenosha bar under fire: Monday night the city of Kenosha discussed whether the "Brat Stop" would lose it's liquor license as well as it's license to have live entertainment.

According to a council vote tonight the Brat Stop will keep its liquor license but city documents show they came dangerously close to losing it or having it suspended.

Council minutes show that since 2013 the bar has had four violations, including two for serving someone who is underage.  Each violation is given a set number of demerit points.

In 730 days, the Brat Stop accumulated 95 demerit points and according to a Kenosha ordinance 100 demerit points in that same amount of time would subject them to suspension, revocation or non renewal of their license.

That's a difference of just five points.

But the council's licensing and permit committee met twice in the past month; hearing testimony and reviewing documents and tonight they recommended the bars liquor license remain intact.

The bar's entertainment license will also remain.
