Kenosha Man taken into custody after hitting squad car, leading authorities on pursuit

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Kenosha man is facing several charges after striking a Kenosha County Sheriff's Deputy squad car and leading authorties on pursuit.

The man allegedly hit the squad car around 3:33 p.m. on Friday before fleeing the scene. The Wisconsin State Patrol located the vehicle, a red Dodge Challenger, and started pursuing the vehicle northbound on Hwy 31.

Due to speeds in excess of 130 MPH, the pursuit was terminated.

Mount Pleasant Police officers then located the vehicle traveling northbound on Hwy 31 near 16th Street, going speeds of 75 MPH. Another pursuit was initiated.

The driver eventually turned onto a dead end road and was taken into custody without further incident. 

He was identified as 27-year-old Alejandro Gonzales of Kenosha.

Gonzales is facing charges of fleeding and eluding a traffic officer, OWI, recklessly endangering safety, and multiple other traffic citations.

He is being held in the Racine County Jail.
