Kenosha man arrested for seventh OWI

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Kenosha man could face time in prison after the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office says he was arrested for his 7th OWI.

Deputies say they responded to a disabled vehicle on I-43 northbound south of West Layton Avenue in the Hale interchange.

The driver, 32-year-old Robert Grubiak, was asleep in the driver’s seat according to investigators. Authorities say he performed poorly on field sobriety tests and scored .21 after a breathalyzer test. His driver’s license had also been revoked.

Grubiak already has six prior OWI convictions and is currently on probation/parole for operating while intoxicated.

A seventh offense OWI is punishable by a mandatory three year prison sentence and a misdemeanor charge of operating while revoked carries a penalty of up to 30 days in jail.
