Kenosha law enforcement introduces "Computer Cop" initiative

KENOSHA COUNTY -- The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office is releasing a new initiative to help parents protect their children online.

Children and teens can search for nearly anything online, meaning danger or inappropriate links and images are just a click away.

\"Computer Cop\" allows parents to keep a closer eye on their children as they surf the web. The program catches key words, codes, and pictures before children can click on them. The program can also decode abbreviations and other online lingo that parents may not understand.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office says its a key safety tool for parents in a constantly evolving online world.

Kenosha County residents can pick up the program disc for free at the sheriff's office.

CBS 58's Marshanna Hester has more.
