Kenosha County officials: Woman dies following 3-vehicle crash in Twin Lakes

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 43-year-old woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Kenosha County on Saturday, March 12.

Kenosha County deputies were called to Fox River Road (County Highway W) just north of County Highway C K in Twin Lakes.

Officials say initial reports indicate a blue Chevy Sonic was stopped in the northbound lanes waiting to make a left turn onto County Highway C K (125th Street) when it was struck from behind by a silver Jeep.

The crash caused the Sonic to travel into the southbound lanes and was struck head-on by a black Chevy pickup truck.

According to deputies on scene, the operator and sole occupant of the Sonic sustained severe injuries and was transported to Froedtert South Hospital in Pleasant Prairie where she later died. She was identified as Abby L. Warchal, a 43-year-old woman from Twin Lakes.

The operators of the other vehicles involved were not injured and were cooperative with the investigation.

Alcohol or other substance abuse is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

All of the vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.

Anyone with information on this crash is encouraged to call the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department at 262-605-5100.
