June Ends Wet and Warm

NOW: June Ends Wet and Warm
NEXT:

We managed to squeeze out some late day sun across the area. It was enough to bump us into the 80s for the last day of the month! It also helped fuel a few isolated showers, but those stay out of the Milwaukee metro. And with showers now coming to an end, that's a wrap on our precip for the month. June ended as a wet month this time around. We tallied up over five inches of rain, over one and a quarter inches above normal. Likewise, we had a surplus in the temperature department too. You can see the average high and low this go around for June. Overall, the month ends 4.3 degrees above normal.

Take a look at the breakdown of high temps this month. We had some hot days, with the highest at 94 degrees on the 12th of the month.

Now as we look ahead to July, it's our warmest month of the year, and my personal favorite. High temps, on average, hover around 80 degrees. Sunset times will continue to come in after 8:30pm until July 12th. ...So there's plenty of long days to get out and enjoy the dog days of summer.

And the weekend is looking great to do just that! Temps will be near 80 on Saturday and middle 80s on Sunday. But, it will be gradually turning less humid as the weekend unfolds, which is good news.

As it stands now, early next week, including the 4th of July, will feature a lake breeze and comfortable temps in the middle 70s.

Have a great holiday weekend!

I'm meteorologist Rebecca Schuld
