MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's National Bratwurst Day Monday, Aug. 16! To celebrate, Johnsonville handed out free brats at the Milwaukee Brewers' Helfaer Field.
Sausage fans were able to head to the field between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to get their free brat.
Those who received a brat were encouraged to give back, for what Johnsonville calls Bratsgiving Day.
"We've renamed National Bratwurst Day Bratsgiving about seven years ago, so we're just having fun with it," Stephanie Dlugopolski said. "But every year the Bratsgiving holiday looks a little different. So this year we are actually in our home state, who enjoys brats immensely with our Johnsonville big taste grill."
Donations were encouraged to support the Brewers Community Foundation. The first 250 people who donated received a Milwaukee Brewers bobblehead.
The Milwaukee Brewers Racing Sausages were also in attendance for photos.
