Jefferson County Sheriff's Office identifies one of two sets of remains found burnt in a shed

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has identified the human remains that were recovered in a shed which burned on April 24th on Northside Drive.

The remains were from two separate individuals.

One set of the remains has been identified as Brion L Downie, 61-years-old. Downie lived at the residence where the shed was found burned.

The second set of remains has yet to be identified. Additional DNA tests are being conducted at this time. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
