Jackson man arrested after fighting with wife over a watermelon

Jackson, WIS. (CBS 58) -- A Jackson man was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Battery following a fight on August 13th.

Officers responded to Jackson Elementary School regarding a woman outside calling for help.

The woman told officers that she and her husband had been arguing all day with the immediate cause being that she had accepted watermelon from a neighbor.

During the argument, the woman told police that her husband rubbed his knuckles into the top of her head, slapped her in the face, and pushed her in the ribs. She told police that when she tried to drive to the police department, he jumped in the back seat and tried to put the car in neutral.

The man was found to be intoxicated and under the influence of an anti-anxiety medication that he was snorting instead of taking according to directions.
