Investigation underway after inmate dies at Waukesha County Jail

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities identified the inmate who died at the Waukesha County Jail as Randy Glenn Jr. 

The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An investigation is underway after a 34-year-old inmate was pronounced deceased at the Waukesha County Jail. 

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office says on Tuesday, Jan. 17, just after 6 a.m., the 34-year-old inmate was found unresponsive in his cell during a routine check. 

Correctional staff immediately began lifesaving efforts and additional help was requested as well as the Waukesha Fire Department. 

Officials say lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and the inmate was pronounced dead at the jail. 

The inmate was in custody since Jan. 16, on a probation hold through the department of corrections. 

An investigation is being conducted by the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
