Investigation into dropped roofing nails in Grafton expands to Port Washington

GRAFTON, Wis. (CBS 58) – Grafton Police continue to investigate leads into the person or people that have been dropping roofing nails around the city since May.

According to police, it began happening in several areas including neighborhoods and busy roads in May.

Grafton Acting Chief Emmett Grissom said there have also been reports of it happening in Port Washington. 

Grafton police continue to investigate the incidents and will be setting up undercover cops and convert cameras to try to find the individuals that are doing this. 

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office is also involved in investigating these incidents. 

Midas, an auto repair shop in Grafton, said they are still repairing tires, but they are no longer doing it for free. On Tuesday, May 26, Midas Grafton told CBS 58 in the morning, they repaired six tires and were fixing any damaged tires for free.
