Indoor Park Proposal in Wauwatosa
A grand vision to bring a renewed sense of community to Tosa's State Street in the dead of winter.
They call it "Village Park."
It will offer a place for families to gather in the cold weather, but still have the feel of an outdoor play space.
The location is the adjoining property where "Central Bark" is located, not too far from Hart Park.
In fact, the owner of the doggy daycare is spearheading fundraising for the project.
She took CBS 58 News on a tour and noted how all the natural light coming into the building is perfect for bringing in nature, complete with real trees and plants, under one roof.
"We realized we wanted to create an outdoor park, but indoors," explained Kerry Krienitz. "We wanted the flexibility that a classic outdoor park has. You really can do anything. And that's what we wanted in this project."
They purposely left much of the space as a blank canvas for public input.
Organizers know they want a coffee shop, a stage similar to Hart Park, along with a kids play area and a space for pets.
