MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Jason Roselle, engineering chief with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, joined us on Friday, Jan. 9 to offer an update about upcoming impacts from the I-94 East-West Freeway Project.
The early east leg segment of the project will begin affecting traffic in early February, according to Roselle. The 27th Street bridge over I-94 will close long-term, along with the I-94 eastbound exit to 26th Street and St. Paul Avenue.
Work over the next few months will include demolition of the existing 27th Street bridge, construction of drilled shafts and piers for the new bridge, temporary widening of eastbound I-94 and wall construction west of 27th Street.
Starting in March, drivers will see long-term lane closures along I-94 eastbound and westbound approaching 27th Street.
