MCSO: Woman walks into traffic after crash, is struck and killed by semi on I-41/894

MILWAUKE (CBS 58) -- A woman struck a pole on I-41/I-894 and was killed after authorities say she walked into freeway traffic and was hit by a semi truck.
It happened Friday morning, Oct. 23, around 9 a.m.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says after the woman hit a pole, her vehicle ended up in the grass on the National Avenue off-ramp. Witnesses reported the woman appeared dazed when she walked into traffic and was struck.
The West Allis Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
The freeway was shut down for approximately three hours following the crash.
The MCSO Criminal Investigative Division is continuing its investigation into factors leading up to the fatality.

MCSO is reporting a full freeway closure on I-894 northbound at National Ave. from a fatal pedestrian accident. All traffic is diverted at Beloit Rd. Please slow down or move over for first responders.
