MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is investigating a crash that killed a 29-year-old motorcyclist Saturday, Aug. 16.

Deputies responded to the scene on southbound I-43 at North Avenue just after 10:30 p.m., according to the sheriff's office, for reports of a motorcycle that struck an SUV at a high speed. 

The sheriff's office says the motorcyclist, a 29-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:53 p.m. 

Investigators believe the motorcycle was traveling in lane two at a high speed when it entered the North Avenue curve on I-43 southbound and struck the side of the SUV. They say the collision caused the motorcycle driver to be thrown from the vehicle.

An investigation remains ongoing.
